Synopsis

2 Good 2 Be True kicks off with a heartbreaking flashback that offers an insight into the motivations of the lead characters.

Alisson “Ali” Fajardo (Kathryn Bernardo) is a hardworking nurse. She crosses paths with Elorde “Eloy” Agcaoili-Borja (Daniel Padilla), a mechanic, at a party where they are both “on a mission.”

Ali’s evening goes well, but Eloy’s doesn’t. He uses charm and wit to worm his way out of his predicament. He eventually escapes, but the authorities are working hard to track him down.

Ali and Eloy keep bumping into each other, quite literally. The succeeding episodes show us a glimpse of their current lives: Ali is strapped for money—struggling to make ends meet and shouldering most of their household expenses as her mother tries to contribute through online selling.

Conversely, Eloy struggles to live a double life, evading police arrest and being the local Robin Hood while fixing cars and visiting his father, Frederico “Fred” Borja (Romnick Sarmienta), who’s in prison for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicides.

Circumstances keep leading them back to each other. Little did they know that they’d already met at a time when they needed a friend most.

Can they get past their jaded outlooks in life to make way for their blossoming feelings for each other? Or will they miss a chance at love because of their circumstances and past?
