If you are someone who enjoys listening to Korean Pop Rock or Alternative Rock music, then you’ll most probably love the fast-rising South Korean band, DAY6.
Who is DAY6?
Day6 (데이식스) debuted on September 07, 2015 under JYP Entertainment. The five-piece band consists of Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon.
During the pre-debut, they were known as 5LIVE but was later change into Day6 to avoid any comparison or confusion with the famous American band, Maroon 5.
Fans of Day6 are called “My Day” and has an official light band.
DAY6 Members
Sungjin (성진) – Leader, Main Vocalist, Rhythm Guitarist
Park Sungjin was born in Busan, South Korea on January 16, 1993 but later moved to Seoul with his parents and older sister. Aside from music, the good-looking leader also likes games and sports. Other members would often tease him as “Bob”, because they think he somewhat looks like Bob the Builder.
Sungjin just recently opened his Twitter account where he mostly tweets about his food cravings and recommendations. What a cutie foodie!

Jae (제이) – Lead Guitarist, Lead Vocalist, Visual
Park Jae-hyung was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 15, 1992 but later moved to California when he was just five. Before debuting with Day6, he was first known as yellowpostitman in Youtube who covers several songs. If Sungjin was addressed as “Bob”, Jae is often called “Chicken Little” because of his striking resemblance to the adorable Disney character.
Jae is also famous for his entertaining Twitter posts (@Jae_Day6) and Youtube videos (JaeSix). Check out his accounts and you’d definitely get sucked into his lane!
Young K (영케이) – Main Rapper, Lead Vocalist, Bassist
Kang Young-hyun was born in Ilsan, South Korea on December 19, 1993 but later moved to Toronto Canada to pursue his study. His musical career began in 2010 when he became a member of a musical trio in Canada under the name Brian Kang.
But would you believe that prior to debuting, Young K appeared in Dream High 1 and Dream High 2 as a backup dancer. We stan a multi-talented guy!
The charmer bassist and rapper, who mostly writes Day6 songs, wants his fans to call him “Young K” instead of Brian. So please grant his simple request, okay?
Wonpil (원필) – Lead Vocalist, Keyboardist, Synthesizer, Visual
Kim Wonpil was born in Incheon, South Korea on April 28, 1994. The handsome keyboardist also likes collecting action figures and is naturally clingy to other members especially to Young K and Dowoon.
It was also revealed that he has lots of aegyo! We wouldn’t mind hearing them all day, Wonpil!
Dowoon (도운) – Drummer, Maknae
Yoon Dowoon was born in Busan, South Korea on August 25, 1995. Just like Wonpil, he was also raised by his older sister. The maknae learned how to play drums when he was 16 and now pursuing vocal lessons. We love a striving man!
Dowoon recently opened his Twitter account wherein he collects new fans through his hilarious tweets and replies.
